Baylor Construction, Inc. strives to honor its lineage and give all glory to God. At Baylor Construction, Inc. we will soon celebrate our 75th anniversary—a rare and remarkable achievement in the construction industry. We credit our longevity to consistently practicing our founding principles, to our wonderful employees, and to the grace of the Lord.

It all began with Henry “Harmon” Baylor in 1949, after he returned from serving in the Army during WW2 as a Dispatch Rider. Back then, a small plastering operation called “Henry H. Baylor Plastering,” Baylor Construction, Inc. has now spanned three generations of family owned and operated construction service to our local and surrounding communities.

In 1978, Harmon’s son-in-law and daughter, Louis Canup and Marilyn Baylor Canup, began to lead what was then known as Baylor Plastering and Drywall into the large commercial market of hotels, condos, hospitals, office complexes, and schools. Beginning as a 16-year-old laborer for Harmon, Louis eventually led the company successfully for almost 20 years before his health demanded he rest. From a humble office in Holly Hill, FL, Louis, Marilyn, and the team at Baylor fostered healthy expansion into serving the entire state as a complete walls and ceilings commercial contractor.

Since 1996, co-owners and in-laws Gary Dillman (CEO) and Lisa Brown (President and Louis’s daughter) have led Baylor Construction, Inc. to complete with integrity and skill the many projects listed here . Dillman and Brown have upheld Baylor’s decades-long commitment to fostering positive relationships through treating customers and employees as they would want to be treated.

Once, only a small operation begun by a humble plasterer, Baylor Construction, Inc. is a State of Florida Certified and Licensed General Contractor and today’s best source for light gauge metal framing and carpentry, insulation, drywall, plastering, acoustical ceilings, stucco, EIFS, and more.

Today, Harmon’s legacy remains visible. His son, Joseph Baylor is a Project Manager and Estimator; Marilyn remains active as secretary, treasurer, and comptroller; Lisa Canup Brown is President; Gary Dillman is CEO and VP; and they are all upholding Baylor’s original driving theme of providing a quality product on time.

We thank God for our history and our future. We look forward to many more decades of excellent service to our customers and community.
